Norwich

Outreach Groups

In addition to the Norwich Support groups, there are a number of Outreach Groups in and around the area. Each Outreach Group varies in structure, but is normally an informal environment to share information and experiences over a cup of tea.

Wymondham Outreach Group

***The Wymondham Outreach Group is currently cancelled due to the Coronavirus outbreak.*** However, we hope to be up-and-running again soon, so please check back soon. When in action, the group meets at Star Throwers, 30 Melton Road, Wymondham, Norfolk NR18 0DB from 2pm to 4pm. For more information, please contact: Jane Crockett at:

We’re delighted to announce that, after an 18-month break due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Stalham Outreach Group is back in action! The first get-together will take place on Wednesday 15th September from 10am to midday at The Croft, Campingfield Lane, Stalham, Norfolk, NR12 9DT when the group will be catching up in person at long last and enjoying cake and coffee. New ladies are very welcome and so if you’d like to come along, please get in touch with Elaine Scott on 07887 637145 or at: elainescott@keepingabreast.org.uk and she will be very happy to help you.

Cromer Outreach Group

Contact: Liz Winter
lizwinter@keepingabreast.org.uk

Cromer Outreach news – Liz Winter, with the help of one of Keeping Abreast’s three founders, Beverley Birritteri, started Cromer Outreach meetings ten years ago when she recognised that ladies from the North Norfolk area weren’t keen on travelling to Norwich for evening support group meetings. However, we are sorry to say that these regular Cromer Outreach meetings no longer take place.

Please get in touch if you are looking for support in this area, as we are looking at organising get-togethers at a café in North Walsham for regular “returners” and for anyone who wishes to learn more about breast reconstruction, once the Coronavirus restrictions have been lifted. Details will follow in due course, but in the meantime, please contact us via the Keeping Abreast website, by email at: info@keepingabreast.org.uk or by calling 01603 819113.

Nick of Time:

As well as supporting women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and looking to have an immediate or delayed reconstruction, Keeping Abreast also supports those women looking to have elective reconstruction surgery due the discovery of a breast cancer gene. This support is provided by our sister group ‘Nick of Time’. It is likely that there will be elective surgery patients at your local group, but if you would like specific information or further details please contact Nick of Time or join their Facebook page ‘Keeping Abreast – Nick of Time’
