Cake & Samosa’s Raise Awareness of BRA Day in Leicester

On Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day – Wednesday 17th October our Leicester group were out raising awareness of Keeping Abreast at the Leicester Royal Infirmary.

With it also being National Burn Awareness week, both Keeping Abreast and Leicestershire Fire & Rescue Service held a joint Cake & Samosa sale during the day and raised a total of £342.

Megan Sweeney Burns and Plastics Specialist who deals with patients effected by both recipients added “We were thrilled with how many people visited the stand, we managed to sell out of cakes and the money raised for Keeping Abreast will go towards us purchasing a number of post-operative bras.

Leicestershire Fire Service are using their money to purchase VR headsets to help show how fast a fire can spread.

The next Leicester Support group will take place on Monday 5th November at the Helen Webb House.  All welcome
