The Big Give Christmas Challenge 2nd - 9th December 2025 – Help Us Double £2,000 into £4,000!

This week only, every donation you make to Keeping Abreast through the Big Give Christmas Challenge will be doubled—turning our target of £2,000 into an incredible £4,000 thanks to generous match-funding and pledged support from our friends at Smith & Pinching, Chartered Financial Planners.

This is an amazing opportunity to make your donation go twice as far at a time of year when connection, compassion, and support mean everything.

Why Your Support Matters

Around 55,000 women and 400 men are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in the UK. Facing the possibility of breast reconstruction can be overwhelming, isolating, and emotionally exhausting.

Research shows that 1 in 5 women feel unsupported when making decisions around breast reconstruction (Breast Cancer Now). Many experience increased anxiety, fear, and low mood that can affect their mental wellbeing at a time when they most need reassurance and understanding.

That’s where we come in.

One-to-One Peer Support Calls

Sometimes a compassionate voice from someone who has “been there” is the most comforting support of all. We can help connect people with kind volunteers to offer non-medical advice and support.

Our Support Isn’t a Luxury – It’s a Lifeline

At Keeping Abreast, we provide tailored, personal, peer-led support to anyone facing breast reconstruction due to breast cancer. Women often tell us, “Talking to someone who’s been where I am made all the difference.”

And the NHS agrees.
NHS England recognises that peer support:

Improves quality of life

Provides experiential knowledge

Builds supportive, trusting, therapeutic relationships

Offers emotional support and reliable information

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.

Your donation today helps ensure that no woman faces breast reconstruction surgery alone.

Together, We Can Give the Gift of Support This Christmas

For many women, breast reconstruction decisions don’t pause for Christmas. Your donation ensures that someone facing surgery over the festive season—and beyond—has somewhere to turn, someone to talk to, and someone who understands.

Donate today and help us turn £2,000 into £4,000.
Your kindness can change someone’s whole experience of breast cancer reconstruction.

Thank you for helping us ensure no one has to face this journey alone.
