Survey for Professionals and Stakeholders: Improving Breast Reconstruction Support in the UK
Help Shape the Future of Breast Reconstruction Services
Keeping Abreast is a national charity supporting people affected by breast cancer facing breast reconstruction.
We are inviting professionals and stakeholders to complete a short survey (10 minutes) to help strengthen breast reconstruction support within NHS and community care pathways.
Your insight will directly inform service development, partnership working, and future commissioning and funding discussions.
Why Your Input Matters
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK, with over 55,000 new diagnoses each year. As survival rates improve, more people are living with the long-term physical and emotional impact of treatment, including decisions about breast reconstruction.
Access to breast reconstruction information and support can vary regionally. We want to better understand:
-
Awareness and use of Keeping Abreast services
-
How charitable support complements statutory services
-
Gaps and unmet needs in breast reconstruction pathways
-
Opportunities to strengthen collaboration and system impact
Who should take part?
We welcome responses from:
-
Clinicians involved in breast cancer care
-
Commissioners and Integrated Care Board representatives
-
Cancer alliance leads
-
Funders and voluntary sector partners
-
Service planners and system leaders
If you are involved in breast cancer services, breast reconstruction pathways, or patient support, your perspective is valuable.
How your feedback will be used
Survey responses will inform:
-
Service improvement and development
-
Partnership discussions with NHS trusts and integrated care systems
-
Strategic planning and funding applications
A summary of findings will be shared with participants.
Your expertise can help improve equity, access, and patient experience in breast reconstruction support across the UK.
At Keeping Abreast, we provide a range of support services for people undergoing breast reconstruction due to cancer, including peer led support groups, telephone and in person support, non-medical advice and informational resources.
