Beverley puts walking boots on

It’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month and for the past few weeks Beverley Birritteri, one of the founders of our charity, has been putting on her walking boots to raise much-needed funds.

Beverley wanted an ambitious walking challenge and decided to complete 122 miles in total, which is the equivalent of the distance from Norwich, where the charity was founded, to Leicester, where another of our Support Groups is based.

Embarking on her challenge, Beverley said: “This October I’m going to walk 122 miles to raise funds for Keeping Abreast. KA provides information, support, practical help and advice for those considering reconstruction. Will you help to make a difference to people’s lives?”

The former breast reconstruction patient has been striding out daily in all weathers – rain, wind, sunshine and rainbows - through the North Norfolk countryside and along the coast, sometimes on her own and sometimes accompanied by friends and family, including her grandson. She has been walking at all times of day, from early morning to late in the day, and she is now nearing the end of her challenge. Beverley is aiming to raise up to £1,500 for the charity and donations can be made at on her Just Giving page at: www.justgiving.com/Beverley-Birritteri1.

Completing this walking challenge is a great way to show support and a wonderfully positive thing to do. We are extremely grateful to Beverley for her continued support of Keeping Abreast and for raising funds for the charity at this highly testing time; thank you.
